Craniosacral therapy (CST) is a gentle, non-invasive hands-on technique that aims to improve the function of the craniosacral and nervous system:

  • CST is a gentle hands-on technique that involves applying slight pressure to the head, neck, and spine to improve the function of the craniosacral system. The craniosacral system includes the membranes and cerebrospinal fluid that protect the brain and spinal cord, as well as the bones of the skull and lower spine.
  • CST also utilizes gentle manipulation of the soft tissue and fascia (connective tissues) to release tension patterns that may restrict lymph, blood, and nerve flow throughout the body.

  • CST aims to release tension patterns in the body's connective tissue network, called fascia. It also works by improving cerebrospinal fluid circulation and improve  nervous system function.
  • CST is suitable for everyone from babies to the elderly. It's often used by women during pregnancy, and by mothers and babies after difficult or traumatic births.
  • CST is generally considered safe when performed by a trained and experienced practitioner. Some people may experience mild side effects such as temporary soreness or fatigue after a session.

CST can help with a variety of conditions, including:

  • Headaches, migraines, and tension headaches
  • Neck, shoulder girdle, and lower back pain
  • Temporomandibular joint pain (TMJD, TMJ pain)
